The Research Centre Řež s.r.o. was established on 9 October 2002 as a 100% subsidiary of ÚJV Řež, a. s. Currently, we represent an important research institution not only in the Czech Republic, but also within Europe and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries.

After its establishment in 2002, the main objective of the new research company, and subsequently its mission, became research, development and innovation in the energy sector, with a relatively broad scope, especially in the nuclear field. In order to be able to carry out research activities and to achieve excellent results also on an international scale, it was necessary to build a modern research base and to create adequate working teams with the necessary know-how. Today, we have not only a number of renowned experts, but also a unique experimental infrastructure including the LVR-15 and LR-0 research reactors, process loops, hot cells and a full range of state-of-the-art laboratories.

Role in the project

• WP3 – Nuclear Thermal Propulsion (lead irradiation tests): CVR leads the irradiation-testing activities, leveraging its LVR-15 and LR-0 reactors to characterise prototype coolant channels under representative neutron and gamma-fluxes and to iterate designs based on test outcomes.

• WP1 – Project Management & Coordination (support): CVR assists in consortium governance, contributing to meeting organisation, progress tracking, and harmonisation of administrative and technical reporting.

• WP2 – System Engineering of BANTER (support): CVR integrates its reactor-testing insights into the definition of system and subsystem requirements, collaborates on the verification strategy up to mid-TRLs, and helps refine the overall qualification roadmap.

• WP5 – Communication, Dissemination & Exploitation (support): CVR contributes to the dissemination plan, authors technical publications, participates in stakeholder workshops, and supports data-management and IPR processes to maximise scientific impact and market uptake.
